These detailed procedures are considered the approved methods for many hundreds of tasks which may be used when superseding manufacturer's instructions do not exist. As such, it is a required document for light aircraft repair stations and has become a core piece of the syllabus at all FAA Part 147 A&P schools.
With this FAA 2025 editorial update, there are no content changes. Only the typography has been modernized with new page layouts and fonts, along with many corrections in page and figure numbering, thus making this an easier reference for everyday use.
