This initial course package is for instructor led training at MTOs, MROs and airlines. If you are looking for personal Human Factors training and certification, please see the options below.
Human Factors is widely considered as the single most important skill to be taught and periodically refreshed to all those involved in aircraft maintenance, from base, to line, to assembly. In all cases, the knowledge and daily application of these “soft skill” practices will lead to improved safety, greater efficiency, reduced incidences and reduced turnover in the workplace.
This course is designed for an instructor led scenario. It may be presented as a classroom experience or may be self-paced under the supervision of a trainer or any mix of the two.
For P147s, it may be offered as a supplement for the ACS requirements. For MROs and airlines, it may be used as initial or recurring training and/or to bring current A&Ps up to the standards now required by the ACS.
Unlike other aspects of training, Human Factors is a personal experience perceived differently by all involved. While certain physical aspects are universal, social and psychological aspects vary greatly with each individual’s unique personality and life long experiences. In this realm, there are often no right or wrong answer as everyone perceives stress and interpersonal relationships on their own terms. This course recognizes this fact and draws not just from the taught material, but through the workbook portion of this course draws extensively from the personal experiences of each individual.
Initial Package: You begin your program with this initial package which includes everything needed for your first 50 trainees. This package includes:
The Process 1] Each student receives a textbook, workbook, and the online link for the video. 2] Progress may be self-paced or with additional classroom elements such as roll playing sessions, etc. 3] After study, each student completes the workbook which includes questions from the textbook, video, and personal experience. The instructor approves the workbook responses based on effort and thoughtfulness. There are no right or wrong answers. 4] With the workbook approved, a final exam is given of 28 MCQ questions. Passing grade is 70%. There is no timing and the exam may be repeated as often as needed. Remember, this is about training, not testing. 5] With exam passed, notify ATB via the Success Log of each completion for the assignment of each trainee’s FAAST awards.
Additional Sets Once you are past your first 50 trainees, additional sets of one textbook and one workbook may be purchased in any quantity.
