This course serves as initial and refresher training on Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions. The course was developed to train individuals involved in the assembly, replacement, handling, repair and testing of electrical components about the risks and avoidance of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). The ESD training is based on EASA AMC 20-23-EWIS, FAA AC 43-206-Chapter 9, ATA Spec. 300-Chapter 6. The course is intended for technical staff involved in maintenance and inspection activities on ESD sensitive components which requires ESD awareness.
By the end of this course, the individuals will be able to handle Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive equipment appropriately and they are able to effectively manage Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive components and devices in an Aircraft technical Environment.
The course is built into short 1-2 minute segments including animations, video and complete narration. Stage exams provide a refresher and confirmation of the key points. A menu bar provides easy navigation between topics. The average time spent to complete this course is 1 hour. However this may vary depending your experience and study habits. The course ends with a final exam which when passed, provides a printable certificate of completion in your name. Once you begin, you will have 1 year to complete and review the course.
