It has been enlarged to include the latest instrument flight procedures and newest technology.
Each pertinent subject is expertly discussed, there are hundreds of exceptional photos and drawings that help make difficult material easy to understand. One unique feature of the book is the stories of true IFR experiences to give the reader a sense of today's real instrument flying practices.
from the Introduction: This book grew out of the Professional Instrument Courses, Inc program for the instrument rating. It embodies the lessons we have learned from years of experience in producing well-qualified, successful instrument pilots. It is meant to provide a solid introduction for the beginner and a valuable refresher for the rated pilot. It has often been said that the instrument rating is the most difficult of the ratings a pilot can seek. Difficult and challenging it is, but it is often made more of a hardship than it needs be by unnecessarily complex and disorganized presentation of the material. This manual, as does the PIC program, seeks to ease the burden by applying what we have found to be effective and lasting teaching techniques.
