Composite Structure Awareness
Composite Structure Awareness is a two part video.
Part 1: Handling procedures for composite aircraft parts in the manufacturing plant and major repair facility. This film reviews the nature and durability of composite parts and cores. The proper techniques of moving, lifting, storage, and cleaning of parts are covered as well as techniques of de-bagging, handling parts during lay-ups, and setting up for the autoclave.
Part 2: Composite Structure Awareness - The location of the composite parts are typically found on transport category aircraft, plus coverage of typical damage scenarios, damage avoidance techniques, limits of allowable damage, and damage reporting.
