Common digital formats such as ARINC 429 and 629 are presented in detail along with related troubleshooting techniques. Complex avionics systems as typically found on Boeing and Airbus aircraft including integrated displays, autopilot, flight management, GPS, ACARS, and central diagnostic systems are then thoroughly gone over from the perspective of the flightline technician and using examples from specific installations.
